SOTOMAYOR Y TERRAZAS BOOK WEEK 2016.

In 2016 the world will commemorate 400 years since the death of William Shakespeare. As you know, Shakespeare was an English poet, playwright, and actor, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English Language. Our school, has celebrated the fourth centenary of this author too.

Here, you can find some interesting information about the English writer. Come on, play the power point and check the connections between Shakespeare and some popular Disney films!!!

During The Book Week many marvelous books and comics have been exchanged among our pupils. Every book contained a gift: bookmarks related to different shakespearean plays.

On the other hand, our 5th and 6th graders have watched and worked on the characters and plots of some famous shakespearean plays, such as “Romeo and Juliet”, “Hamlet” or “MacBeth” with the help of Stephanie ( our language assistant). If you want to take a look at the wonderful British Council web on Shakespeare, click this link and you will find cartoon shorts about the plays:

Information about Elizabethan Theatre have been acquired through this funny online game posted on the BBC web:

Finally, we have read this sonnet by Shakespeare:

solar, y otras su tez de oro se apaga;
toda belleza alguna vez declina,
